Hair / Makeup Artists
Below is a list of recommended hair/makeup artists and some useful information.
Useful Information
Booking your own artist
Yes, you can do this.
Make sure you find someone who can do both hair and makeup (or you will have to book two people at two rates) and that they're familiar to the industry you're requesting they work in.
Cost
This is really dependent on the artist, location, travel, and timings etc.
For one person, and a half day, as an example, you should expect to pay anywhere between £140 to £240.
Booking one of our recommended artists
Contact them using one of the shown methods, and state who your shooting with and when.
Timings
You can request that they:
1. Are on site for your whole shoot to help with touch ups etc.
2. Are on site but leave after finishing your hair/makeup.
3. Do your makeup elsewhere before your shoot/location start time.
If on site, bear in mind that this will use 1-1.5 hours of your location/shoot time, unless you have booked more time.
Specifics?
When contacting an artist make sure to mention:
- date/time/location.
- photographer/content.
- preferred hair style, send examples if possible.
- preferred makeup style, send examples if possible.
- any allergies.
